We collect only what we need to run the store, deliver heavy equipment to your address and support it afterward. The categories below describe what we collect and where it comes from.
Information you give us
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number, billing address and delivery address.
- Order details: products purchased, order number, order value, delivery instructions, and site details you provide for freight delivery (for example gate codes, forklift availability, business hours).
- Payment information: handled by our payment processor. We receive a confirmation, the last four digits of the card and the card type. We never see or store your full card number.
- Account information: if you create an account, your login email, password (stored hashed) and order history.
- Business information: company name, tax exemption certificates, resale numbers and purchase-order details for business, fleet and dealer orders.
- Financing applications: the information you enter on a financing request, which is forwarded to the lender. The lender's own privacy policy governs what they collect from you directly.
- Communications: emails, contact-form submissions, quote requests, warranty claims, return requests, reviews you submit and notes from phone calls with our team.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page and the links you click.
- Approximate location: derived from your IP address, used to show the nearest warehouse and estimated delivery times.
- Cookies and similar technologies: described in Section 4.
Information from other sources
- Carriers: delivery status, proof of delivery, appointment notes and photos from LTL freight carriers.
- Payment and fraud-prevention providers: verification results that help us confirm an order is legitimate.
- Financing partners: approval or decline status for a financing application (not your credit report).
We use the information we collect for the following purposes, and for no purpose that is incompatible with them without telling you first.
| Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|
| Fulfilling orders | Processing payment, dispatching from the nearest of our 6 warehouses, booking freight, sharing your phone number with the carrier so they can schedule delivery, sending tracking updates. |
| Customer support | Answering questions, handling returns and Return Authorization numbers, processing refunds, managing warranty claims and warranty extensions. |
| Account management | Creating and securing your account, showing order history, remembering delivery addresses. |
| Financing | Forwarding your application to our financing partner and receiving the decision. |
| Transactional messages | Order confirmations, dispatch notices, delivery appointments, invoices, warranty registration, policy updates. You cannot opt out of these while you have an open order. |
| Marketing | With your consent, emails about new equipment, bundles and promotions. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. |
| Site improvement | Understanding which pages and products are used most, fixing errors, testing layouts, improving the delivery estimator and search. |
| Fraud prevention and legal | Verifying orders, preventing chargebacks and abuse, complying with tax, accounting, EPA/CARB and other legal obligations, and enforcing our Terms of Use. |
We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you. Financing decisions are made by the lender, not by us.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by the website platform and by services we use. We use the following types:
| Type | What it does | Can you turn it off? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keeps your cart, login session and checkout working. Protects against fraud. | No. The store does not function without them. |
| Functional | Remembers your state for the delivery estimator, your last-viewed category and language. | Yes, through the cookie banner or your browser. |
| Analytics | Counts visits and page views so we know which products and guides are useful. Data is aggregated. | Yes. |
| Marketing | Lets us show relevant equipment ads on other sites and measure whether a campaign led to an order. | Yes. |
You can change your choices at any time from the cookie banner or the link in the footer of every page. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you block essential cookies the cart and checkout will not work.
Our site does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals because there is no common standard for them. We do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of marketing cookies where the law requires it.
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, then delete or anonymize it. Typical periods are:
- Order, invoice and payment records: 7 years after the order, to meet tax and accounting requirements.
- Warranty records (model, serial number, contact): for the life of the warranty plus 2 years, or longer if a claim is open or a recall applies.
- Account data: while your account is active and for 2 years after your last login, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
- Support emails and call notes: 3 years after the last contact.
- Financing application data: 90 days after the decision, unless the order proceeds, in which case it is kept with the order record.
- Marketing consent and unsubscribe records: as long as needed to honor your choice.
- Analytics data: 26 months, aggregated after that.
Backups may hold copies for a limited period after deletion; they are overwritten on a rolling schedule and are not used for any active purpose.
Whatever state you live in, you can ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date, including delivery and contact details.
- Delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law (for example invoices and warranty registrations).
- Opt out of marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing us.
- Restrict or object to certain uses, such as analytics or marketing cookies.
- Port your order history to you in a common file format.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; the right to delete it; the right to correct it; the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; the right to limit use of sensitive personal information; and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
In the preceding 12 months we have collected the categories listed in Section 1 and disclosed them for business purposes to the parties listed in Section 3. We do not sell personal information and have not sold it in the preceding 12 months. We may "share" limited browsing data with advertising partners as that term is defined in California law; you can opt out through the cookie banner, by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser, or by emailing us with "Do not share my information" in the subject line. We do not knowingly collect or sell the personal information of consumers under 16.
Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and opt-out of targeted advertising. Use the same contact method above. If we decline a request you may appeal by replying to our decision email; we will respond to the appeal within 45 days.
We protect your information with measures appropriate to the size of our business and the sensitivity of the data:
- All pages on garagequipments.com are served over HTTPS (TLS encryption), including checkout.
- Card payments are processed by a PCI DSS compliant provider. Full card numbers never touch our systems.
- Access to customer records is limited to staff who need it for orders, delivery, support and accounting, and is protected by individual logins and two-factor authentication.

- We review access, delete stale data and update software on a regular schedule.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your personal information we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by Florida law and any other applicable law. Our products are heavy commercial and industrial equipment, and our website is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors, and we do not accept orders from them. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, email info@garagequipments.com and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy as our business, the law or our service providers change. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page shows the current version. For material changes, such as a new category of data or a new type of sharing, we will post a notice on the site and, where we have your email address, send you a message at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the site after that date means you accept the updated policy. Previous versions are available on request.
