Built for everyone who works

Garage Equipment wants every customer, whatever their ability or the technology they use, to be able to research, buy and get support for heavy equipment on garagequipments.com. This page explains what we do, where we fall short and how to reach us if something is in your way.

Our commitment

Accessible by design, not by exception

Garage Equipment, a brand of Autokato Engineering Ltd, is committed to making garagequipments.com usable by people with disabilities, including customers who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, screen magnification, captions or high-contrast displays.

Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. We treat that standard as the minimum for every new page, product listing and guide we publish, and we are working through older content to bring it to the same level.

WCAG 2.1 Level AAConformance target · Reviewed quarterly
PerceivableText alternatives for images, captions, sufficient color contrast, content that reflows on any screen.
OperableEverything works with a keyboard alone, focus is visible, nothing flashes, time limits are avoidable.
UnderstandablePlain language, consistent navigation, clear labels and error messages on every form.
RobustValid, semantic markup that works with current and future assistive technologies.
Prefer to order by phone? Every product, quote, financing application, return and warranty claim can be handled by a person at (904) 214-3064, Mon–Fri 9AM–6PM EST. Nothing on the site is available only online.
Measures we take

What we do to support accessibility

Structure and navigation
Semantic HTML with one H1 per page, logical heading order and landmark regions (header, navigation, main, footer).
Breadcrumbs on every inner page and a consistent header, menu and footer across the site.
Descriptive page titles and link text; no "click here" links.
A sitemap page listing every section of the store for direct navigation.
Keyboard and focus
All menus, accordions, filter chips, tabs, forms and the cart can be operated with Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space and the arrow keys.
A visible gold focus indicator on every interactive element.
The mobile menu traps focus while open and returns it to the menu button when closed; Escape closes it.
No keyboard traps and no actions that require a mouse hover.
Visual design
Text and interface colors meet at least a 4.5:1 contrast ratio (3:1 for large headings); gold is never used as the only way to convey meaning.
Pages reflow to a single column at narrow widths and remain usable at 200% browser zoom and 400% on mobile.
Body text is at least 14px with 1.7 line height; no text is embedded in images except logos.
No auto-playing video with sound, no content that flashes more than three times per second, and animations respect the "reduce motion" system setting.
Content, media and forms
Alternative text on product photos, warehouse images and icons; decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
Specification tables use proper headers so screen readers announce the row and column for each value.
Every form field has a visible label; required fields and errors are announced in text, not by color alone.
Installation and maintenance videos we publish include captions, and PDF guides are provided as tagged, text-searchable documents on request.
How we test

Accessibility is part of how we build, not a final check. New templates and custom-coded sections are reviewed before release, and the live site is audited every quarter.

  • Automated scanning of every page for contrast, missing labels, heading order and ARIA errors.
  • Manual keyboard testing of the full purchase path: category, product, cart, checkout, order confirmation.
  • Screen reader testing with NVDA and JAWS on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and TalkBack on Android.
  • Zoom and reflow testing at 200% and 400% on desktop and mobile browsers.
  • Customer feedback from this page is logged, prioritized by impact and tracked to a fix.
Compatibility

garagequipments.com is designed to work with the current and previous major version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop, and Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android, in combination with the assistive technologies listed above.

The site relies on HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Core content, navigation and contact details remain readable if JavaScript is unavailable; interactive tools such as the delivery estimator, payment estimator and live FAQ search require it. Where a tool is unavailable, the same information can be obtained by phone or email.

We do not use overlay widgets that claim to make a site accessible automatically. Fixes are made in the site's own code.

Transparency

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts of the site do not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. These are the issues we know about, what we are doing and when we expect them to be resolved. If you run into one, contact us and we will provide the information another way.

Manufacturer PDF manuals and spec sheets

Some documents supplied by manufacturers are image-only scans without tags or text. We provide an accessible text version or read the relevant section to you by phone on request while we replace them.

Older blog posts and guides

Articles published before 2025 may have images without descriptive alt text and heading levels that skip. We are re-editing them in order of traffic.

Product photo galleries

The image zoom on product pages currently responds to mouse and touch only. All product images can be opened at full size with the keyboard, and the zoom control is being rebuilt.

Installation videos are captioned, but do not yet include audio description of on-screen steps. Written step-by-step guides cover the same content.

Workaround available
Third-party checkout, payment and financing pages

Payment fields, the financing application and carrier tracking pages are provided by outside services. We choose partners with published accessibility commitments but do not control their code. See the note below.

Third party
Third-party content

Some features on garagequipments.com are supplied by other companies and open in their systems or inside our pages: the website platform's checkout and account pages, card payment fields, the financing partner's application, freight carrier tracking sites, embedded maps, review widgets and social media links.

We are not responsible for the accessibility of those services and cannot always fix problems in them directly. We do require our partners to commit to accessibility standards, report issues we find to them, and offer an alternative for every task they perform. If you cannot complete a payment, application or tracking request through a third-party page, call (904) 214-3064 and we will complete it with you.

Standards and legal basis

This statement follows the W3C accessibility statement model and refers to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Our approach is informed by Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and applicable Florida law.

Physical access: our Jacksonville headquarters at 3261 Philips Hwy has step-free access from the parking area and accessible restrooms. Equipment viewing at any of our 6 warehouses is by appointment; tell us in advance about any access needs and we will arrange them.

This statement was first published on January 1, 2026 and is reviewed at least once a year, and whenever we make significant changes to the site.

Feedback and contact

If you find a page, product listing, form or document on garagequipments.com that you cannot use, tell us. Describe what you were trying to do, the page address, the browser and assistive technology you use, and what happened. We acknowledge accessibility feedback within 2 business days, tell you how we plan to fix the issue, and provide the information or complete the task with you another way in the meantime.

You can also request any content on the site in an alternative format, such as large print, plain text or an accessible PDF, at no charge.
